Measured

1 John 5:1  “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God.  And everyone who loves the Father loves His children too.”

Luke 9:48  “Then He said to them, ‘whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the One who sent me.  For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.'”

My dearest love,  you have stood against the wall measuring yourself with the passing years and the acquired knowledge of all you have experienced.  You have grown in so many wonderful ways, and I am very proud of you.  In each line you place on your wall of measurement, a story unfolds.  Do you know this? Do you see how I have also tracked each milestone you’ve encountered?

Look with Me, My love, see how I have measured you and tell Me your thoughts.  For I haven’t measured with years from your birth or inches from your head to your toes, but by the amounts in which you have decreased yourself to allow My Son room to increase in you.

Every time you said yes to Me, even though you didn’t understand, you grew. Every moment you sat waiting for My answer, patiently, and did not decide for yourself in the matter, you gained wisdom.  Each time to did exactly as I asked you to, though others thought you were foolish, you understood what was right.  All the moments you have spent quietly unheard and unseen, I saw you and I opened your eyes and your ears to learn from all you saw and heard.  In these hours you grew in many ways you didn’t even notice.  You saw what was right and what was foolish and you took these things to heart.

In these ways and in so many more, you have become My child, and I have measured each and every inch of this journey.  While so many of My people look to see how much they have grown and compare themselves to each other, how much they increase and gain importance among their peers, all I have desired is that you continue to decrease, to remain My responsive and faithful child.  In this way, My Son can complete His work in you, and in this way, I know that you believe He is My Son.
